Authorship and originality

AH.football articles are written and edited by Alex Hart for this publication. We do not republish scraped articles, disguise advertising as editorial advice or invent quotes, credentials, statistics or events.

Sources and fact checking

Rules articles are checked against the current Laws of the Game published by The International Football Association Board. Competition formats and other facts are checked against official competition or governing-body information where possible. Source notes appear on articles when they help readers verify or continue exploring a topic.

Clarity before complexity

We write for readers who may be encountering a concept for the first time. Technical terms are explained in context, examples are used to show how a rule or tactic works, and headings make longer guides easier to scan.

Updates and corrections

Articles show a review date. Football laws and competition regulations can change, so readers should also consult the relevant current regulations when a decision has practical consequences. Confirmed errors are corrected as soon as reasonably possible. To flag one, contact the editor with the article title and the detail in question.
